Busy!

And that's putting it mildly! So here are just a few shots of one of many things I've been up to lately.....

Eleven Pack-A-Picnic baskets with lids (large size) for eleven fabulous ladies! I made these for 'my' church ladies that I was going to go on retreat with but ended up having to cancel for many unforeseen reasons, which kind of ticked me off because I was anticipating it so much. But you can never tell what life is going to throw at you, but it's all in the way you handle the situation. I was planning on making these while at retreat, but since I couldn't go, I decided, what the heck, why not still make them? So I did and I love them! They are basically monochromatic and simple - no big embellishments or anything, but they all loved them!

On top of the lids, they all have a flower from Stampin' Up! Natural Beauty set which I got when I went to regional convention back from my demo days - it retired in 2007 unfortunately but the flower fit my Nesties well, so that's what I used! I took my watercolor brush pen and used the matching PTI reinker in coordinating color and colored it in. Just a note when using PTI reinkers and the pen, the colors kind of separate so watch what you are using....I really can't explain it but if you try it, you will see what I mean. It will work, but it's weird. And your color will be a somewhat matte color. You can see what I mean about that in this picture....

I used PTI Background Basics: Text Style and stamped the flower right over the top and colored them in. On the black box, I used red for the flowers and Itty Bitty Dots patterned paper for the butterflies and the chocolate box I used these pinks. Sweet!

After the flowers were dried I took my glitter pen and on the one opened flower put a bit of sparkle on it and then glued a rhinestone into the center!

For the handles on these marvelous boxes, I used Lauren's binder clip technique. But because I knew the candle that was going into the box was kind of heavy, I reinforced the Word Window punched paper by backing it with plastic. I took one of the boxes that PTI stamp sets come in and did a WW punch of plastic and glued the WW punched paper directly to it. SOLID!

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by!

WOW! You made 11 of these beautiful picnic baskets WITH handles? I'm in awe. Love the lid too, the glitter really makes that flower stamp!

Those really look nice. And wow, you have been busy! I can sympathize with your disappointment. One year I had plans three times to get together with friends from online stamping groups and each time had to cancel, I was bummed! But you put your time to good use I must say.
